I've survived my first three days of classes! This program is really intense, and we have a lot of reading and homework to do, but it is so worth it. Here's a brief summary :)
So our first day was just orientation, and we took a walk around the neighborhood we live in. We are near Trastevere, not in the city center. It's very nice to be kind of secluded, since we have less touristy interactions, and more authentic interactions with Italian culture.
We saw some pretty cool things near the Centro:
Then we had welcome dinner, which was unbelievable! Fresh mozzarella, pasta, prosciutto.... yummy :)
Tuesday we had our first real class. and Ancient City lecture on obelisks, and got our first assignment. We were broken into groups and tasked to find and report on our assigned obelisk somewhere in Rome...what a cool assignment! My group was assigned the obelisk in Piazza Navona, so we headed there:

| Piazza Navona |
| Fountain! |
We'll see about Art History-first lecture is tomorrow!
As for the food, the meals we have here at the Centro are outstanding. We have eaten so much, I'm not even sure I can name it all, but everything has been delicious. Pasta, meats, fruits, eggs...you name it, they can cook it :)
I haven't been able to do too much exploring, but that will come this weekend :)
Until then, I leave you with this picture from the Centro garden, of a vicious Italian rat and its prey:
